Use photos you own that look like typical orders: a pet, a single portrait, a group shot and a dim indoor photo.

Run each photo at Simple, Standard and Detailed, and note which level suits a toddler's page and which suits an adult's.

Download Letter and A4 PDFs, print them, and color one. That's the only real test of a coloring page.

- There is no seller plan or license to buy today.
- Customer photos: you must have permission from the person who owns each photo, and for photos of children, permission from a parent or legal guardian. You must be 18 or older to upload.
- Don't upload photos of trademarked or copyrighted characters.
- Etsy has its own rules about how items are made and about AI-assisted work. Read them and follow them for your listings.
Quality checklist for personalized pages
- Likeness: would someone who knows the person or pet recognize them? Buyers of personalized items notice when a face doesn't look like the photo, and small faces in group shots are often simplified.
- Closed shapes: can a child fill each area without the color running off into the background?
- Clean lines: pages are converted to pure black and white with stray specks removed. Still zoom in and check before you print.
- Framing: the page keeps your photo's framing and aspect ratio, so crop the photo before uploading rather than after.
- Print test: print on both Letter and A4, at actual size, and check the margins.
- Text: pages don't include text. The coloring book builder adds a cover title and name.

Limits to know before you plan around it
